Newspeak Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery

Saatchi's notorious 1997 Sensation exhibition, made him king of London's art scene and signaled a whole new era for contemporary British  art. Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst and Marc Quinn are only a few of the  British artists to mention, who now rule the international art world. Thirteen years onwards, Newspeak is Saatchi's biggest exhibition since, and is meant to prove that Brit art is far from over. However, this is a much less outrageous affair than its predecessor and aims to start a new era yet again. As Newspeak features so much art, it has had to be split into two parts. The first part opened end of May and the second one will open in October. If you love your art, this exhibition shouldn't be missed. Once you have visited the exhibition, I recommend that you have lunch, coffee or a drink at the gallery's Mess CafĂ©/Bar. Great surroundings and some of the coolest people in town.

Atari- Ya Sushi

I know my friend Joudie (who told me all about Atari-Ya) is going to hate me for sharing her secret with the  rest of you, but Atari-Ya sushi is so good I just have to write about it. Located as centrally as James Street right behind Selfridges, most of you (like me) have passed by so many times without paying any attention to this place, as it literally looks like a "whole in the wall". However, don't judge by appearances as the food is AMAZING and apparently this is a common secret among London's sushi lovers. If you take a better look at Atari-ya you will notice that the crowd going in and out of this sushi bar and takeaway is really hip and if you give the food a chance, you will never want to eat takeaway sushi from anywhere else. Especially considering the value for money. OK, it looks like a Japanese canteen, but at the end of the day it is all about the food and this one is fantastic!

Monmouth Coffee Company

Next time you are in Covent Garden, you have to walk down Monmouth Street. Once you are done with all the shopping from the street's lovely boutiques, stop for a coffee at Monmouth. Operating since 1978, the company has been roasting and retailing coffee at this very same shop in Monmouth Street. From Brasil to Colombia and from India to Kenya and Costa Rica, the Monmouth Company roast coffee from single farms, estates and cooperatives from all over the world. This is one of the best places in London to buy coffee for your own use at home or simply enjoy a great cuppa in the store's warm and vintage environment. If you can't find a table inside (and the weather is nice), I suggest you take a seat at the bench outside the store and have your coffee while watching the area's cool crowd passing by. Moreover Monmouth has also opened in Borough Market (2 Park Street, SE1 9AB).

Most recently they were spotted as Carrie Bradshaw's new shoe obsession in Sex and the City 2. Manolo who? Well sorry girls but it's all about Charlotte at the moment. Slippers

Slippers have made a huge comeback and have become synonymous to serious style! From super models to eccentric rock stars and the Eaton lot..They are a must have. For me, best places to get them from are "Stubbs & Wootton" and "Shipton & Heneage". You can select one of the many hand- embroidered logos on offer or you can completely customise them and add your initials or whatever design you fancy. If you are a girl try wearing them with a pair of ripped jeans for a more edgy effect and if you are a boy, try them out with your tux next time you go to a black tie event. My boyfriend has been doing it for ages and it really works!
